General thoughts about the breed
I've put together some thoughts and commentary on NMS 2013, but also the breed in general - please check the link and share the story!!

Re: General thoughts about the breed
Gosh.
Just as an FYI
The only way out of this trap is to honestly put up all available numbers and look at the big picture – foals born vs. sport horses registered with the FN and their success, separated by the level of competition. That is when we will finally truly see the light – and I can guarantee most of you will be surprised (and probably shocked) to see your vision of the Trakehner world turned upside down. Yes of course, to develop a sport horse successfully requires time, money, and a delicate set of special circumstances, and you can’t ride paper. Agreed. Yet some information can be drawn from sport horse tables such as the proposed above, and it is way past Noon to get started on this.
someone did this on the TrakehnerFreunde.de board (well, I'm pretty sure they did, only you know me and Google Translator ) for the past 5 years or so. I'd link to it, but my search skills don't seem to be quite up to snuff, sorry.

Re: General thoughts about the breed
Found it - wow it went back to 1991, looked at each approved stallion and then looked at number of competing offspring

and then someone put it in a list (although this is not necessarily *the* list if I understand the thread correctly)

Re: General thoughts about the breed
These lists are a nice beginning, but are not accurate. They don't go by foals born, but mares bred - BIG difference, can really screw up some numbers!!
