MARBACH INTERNATIONAL CIC* AND CIC*** = TRAKEHNER-PALOOZA!! Empty Re: MARBACH INTERNATIONAL CIC* AND CIC*** = TRAKEHNER-PALOOZA!!

wow - some interesting names in there - Poker E and Grand Prix for a start. I always fancied trying Grand Prix at some point, and Poker E is closely related to Judy Ritchie's mare Peut Etre (Polaria's dam). And a surprising amount of what I would call dressage blood - Stedinger for example - (although Sandro Hit was bred as a jumper I believe) - and Hohenstein.

I thought Lacorna had been retired? Obviously not. Did they do ET with her perhaps?

Thanks for posting, Kim! Very interesting Smile

Go Trakehners!

Go Trakehners!

Agree there are some VERY interesting - quite dressage-y names. However that's not terribly surprising anymore @ the CIC (even CCI) 1 and even 2* level. Those names disappear @ the 3* level where 50%+ TB blood is the rule of thumb (some but very few exceptions).

The name I was most surprised to see was Pepper and Salt - approved several years ago @ Frujaheskoering (think Best Before Midnight approved at same one). Good jumper but never heard of him again 'til now.

Kim, you have the wrong Pepper & Salt - this is not the Trakehner.

La Corna had a foal before her full riding career, and that filly is now a State Premium mare and has produced several foals herself. While grand ma is still running Wink

Thanks M. Weird there are two Pepper & Salt's (unusual variation). Do you know what became of the TK one?

MARBACH INTERNATIONAL CIC* AND CIC*** = TRAKEHNER-PALOOZA!! Empty Re: MARBACH INTERNATIONAL CIC* AND CIC*** = TRAKEHNER-PALOOZA!!

Major Trakehner weekend in Marbach:

Tabasco wins the CIC***
Der Dante wins the CIC*, 2nd place in CIC* goes to Glenn Grant.

A bunch of Trakehners, part Trakehners and even a part Trakehner pony in the CCIP* leave no question which German WB runs the show. I've pulled the info together, along with a really cool helm cam video of Ingrid with Tabasco cross country here:
